Hi everyone.

To put it simply, I have a strong interest in robotics. It's a shame that this society was essentially inactive this year.

Vision

I hope to foster a community of people who like robotics, one where we can pool our collective knowledge, skills and experience to help each other bring our passion projects to fruition.

I don't expect to have a grandiose resurrection of this society, I believe in longevity and want to lay down foundations that can be carried on or built upon by the next committee. As such, a lot of this year would be creating a framework for how the society functions, work to develop the next potential committee and establish this society as one worth being an active member of.

Some of what I expect to implement in the coming year is:

  • Frequent meet-ups, something simple and easy like a chill social.
  • Open workshops, something where members can learn/work on projects.
  • Unibots team? KCL has a few.
  • Collaborations with other societies.

Why Me?

For the past year and a half at UCL, I've been part of committees of other societies, and this year I've also been working on a year-long project with the mechanical engineering Rocketry Team. I've made mistakes, I've seen others make mistakes. Carrying what I've learnt, I feel confident about taking on a role like this.

For the sake of the character count, if you care enough about what I've been up to, you can find me on LinkedIn.

I hope to see this society flourish.

All the best,
Ramneet
