Population Health Sciences Society serves a range of students from undergraduate to postgraduate, taught to research, and in-person to virtual; and as President I will deliver high quality events that build community; boost employability; and benefit the welfare of all students. Establishing the Population Health Sciences society has been a really enjoyable challenge and we have been able to begin this but I'm excited to keep it going and deliver what students in the department have been wanting for years!

As a society I hope that we can continue to host regular events for students at all levels to build a network within the department. These events will include journal clubs, socials and well being activities as well as larger speaker events and workshops. As President I will be drawing on my experiences being on the committee this year as PHSS's welfare officer to lead the team efficiently, fostering their talents and enthusiasm for population health and delivering high quality events.

More personally, as a third year BSc Population Health Sciences student I have a good understanding of how the department works and what needs improving; particularly through my work as Academic Rep and Transition Mentor. I am also consistently available to our members and happy to listen about what they hope to see from the society and work with them to make it happen. I'm looking forward to working with the incoming committee to continue our success and make the 2023/24 year a success!
