Welcome to the PHSS!
The Population Health Sciences Society (PHSS) is your community at UCL to connect with students in the Faculty of Population Health Sciences and wider UCL who share interests in improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities. Our Society’s mission is to support you socially, academically and professionally as you develop into public health leaders.
What can you expect?
Socials – did you know the Faculty of Population Health Sciences offers programmes for undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students across ten institutes, schools and centres? Meet students from different disciplines and backgrounds at a range of social events!
External speaker events – engage with world-leading population health researchers and practitioners during talks held throughout the year and in collaboration with other UCL societies intersecting with population health such as Law, Politics, Global Health and Action Against Homelessness (to name just a few!).
Research seminar – join our seminar series for a virtual showcase of diverse work from UCL staff and PhD students conducting research in population health.
Social study session – meet up with fellow students to have a chat, get on with some work and ask a peer for help.
Trips - explore the history of London through the lens of public health with walking tours from Discover Medical London.

The Population Health Sciences Society was started in 2023 to foster connections between the range of population health-focused programmes at UCL and offer more opportunities to promote academic and career growth.
