Guys, hear me out on this one.

Who is more qualified to organise socials than the person who only goes to socials? To whom is the social life of the sport club more important than the person who doesn't do the sport? What's more, you'll never catch me getting distracted with any of that silly parkour stuff. No. I'm not here to improve. I'm here to socialise and nothing more, and this is why I should be heading the socials. You'll never catch me slacking because it's the only thing I do in the club.

Parkour means so much to me (the club not the sport, the sport I still need to try). I've made some of my closest friends and some of my best memories this year in connection with parkour. I've found it to be such an inclusive and chill group and I think we could all stand to spend more time with each other.

I have time to dedicate to the role. I do history so I really only have 1-2 crunchtime busy weeks a term. The rest of the time will be in service to you guys <3. Children and cats love me. I like to think some people do too. I'll take my responsibilities seriously and will not plan a coup from the inside.

Also, how funny would it be if I got a committee role having only gone to a taster? I think it's worth the jokes.

Alexandria Choi

Hey everyone, I'm Alex and I'm the current media secretary for the club. I've also been at most of the sessions this year, so hopefully you can put a face to the name - I'm the weirdly flexible and therefore floppy one if you were wondering. It's been an amazing experience helping run the club this year and I'd love to continue being involved as one of the social secretaries next year.

I've learnt a lot being on the committee on top of my duties as media sec, like working with my fellow committee members to organise large-scale events (ready your excitement, details coming soon) and stepping up to help when others might not be free. I get that there might've not been that many pre-planned socials this year and even though we all love a good old cloisters social, it would be nice to know beforehand where we'll be going and what the plan actually will be after training.

If you've ever had a look at my Google maps you'd know that I have pins for places all over the city. I'm one of the first people to check if everyone's dietary requirements are met - just let me know what you need and I'll get that sorted. I will also bring baked goods to share sometimes (older members can attest to the massive cake I brought to Hampstead Heath last year). And if there's a restaurant or activity you'd like to go to, I'd be more than happy to plan something. So feel free to talk to me about anything and everything, it's hard being intimidating when I have to look up to see everyone anyway.

Jia Quy Lim

Hey everyone, I’m Jia and I’m currently in first year doing history. I would love to be social secretary as I have enjoyed going to the socials all year and getting to know everyone in the society when we aren’t all jumping around, so I would love to contribute back to the society and do some more cool events next year!

Some personal qualities that I can add to the role are diversity since I’m a humanities student in this Stem filled club (seriously we need more humanities students), I’m very talkative so I’m up to talk about pretty much anything whenever you see me and I already have the ability to organise meet ups/make decisions on what to do/where to go when no one else can (on a more informal level).

For the future, it would be nice to do some more inter uni and inter society socials as well, as well as do another Scala sports night. I would also propose karaoke but I’m up for taking any suggestions for any events and socials people would like to do!
