Welcome to UCL Parkour!
What is parkour?
The art of parkour involves traveling from point A to B using quick and efficient movements to traverse the terrain. However, training parkour can come in many different forms. This can range from: technically precise jumps, flowy vaults, explosive wall climbs and more! Parkour encourages creativity whilst also helping develop one’s mental and physical health.
Sessions
Where London architecture is made for parkour, we are able to travel around the city and put our parkour skills into practice. Each week we have professionally coached training sessions to help us safely develop our skills and to help us implement them into whatever environment we may face.
Additionally, each weekend we hold indoor open sessions, with sporting blocks and safety mats, in which we can practise our skills in a setting which can be adapted. This can help you learn new skills and progress existing ones which could otherwise be too challenging or risky to practise outdoors. Although these sessions are open (not coached), do not feel nervous about trying to learn something new, as we still have assistant coaches attending these sessions who are more than happy to provide inspiration or set up something for you to try.
Socials and trips
After each session we hold a variety of social events, including restaurant socials, cinema trips, card game, and club-funded pizza socials! We also hold termly trips to other parts of the UK to explore their parkour spots (think Brighton or Sheffield), as well as end-of-year trips abroad. Over the years we've been to many places including Greece, Spain, Slovenia, and Italy!
Make friends!
One aspect of our club that all our members enjoy is the fact that we are not merely a sports club training parkour, but a growing community in which people are able to build friendships and relations with other members.
So regardless of whether you are an avid traceur/traceuse (parkour practitioner), or if you’ve never touched grass before, UCL Parkour caters for everyone and is a safe and comfortable place to train parkour and meet a great group of people! Get your Taster membership today :)
