Pakistan Society: President

Salam everyone, I’m Eiman. As the Y1 rep of PakSoc, I’ve met some incredible people, and learnt more about myself and what it takes to run a successful committee. Starting this journey, I was met with uncertainty and fear, like others in my shoes.​​ It taught me the importance of embracing my identity and roots. I’m grateful for the experience and feel well-equipped and eager to take on the responsibility of serving you as your President this year.

Working with the committee has been an enriching experience. I've helped execute events fostering inclusivity and a friendly environment. It has taught me to persevere in the face of adversity, helping me hone my delegation skills and create a strong work ethic, which I believe will help propel us toward success. Hoping to continue the excellent work of the society, I am also mindful of areas needing refinement. I intend to focus on member well-being, more collaborations, forging new partnerships, increasing outreach to prominent Pakistani figures, contributing to charities addressing socio-economic issues in Pakistan, and providing opportunities to bring active change. 

University is challenging, to say the least, it’s societies like PakSoc that provide a sense of community and a safe space to celebrate our shared background. I vow to continue making it a place where everyone is valued. I am grateful for the role of this society in my growth at UCL and would be honoured to pay it forward by assisting others in their journey.
