I’m running for President of UCL MMA. After a year in the society and being the fight team leader, I’ve grown to love this society and the people in it greatly. As fight team leader I was able to get to know not just the fighters of the society, but welcome new members as they ventured into MMA for the first time.

If elected I hope to do the following in my role:
-    Work closely with the committee to develop an inclusive and well-rounded training program that caters to members of all levels
-    Create a wide variety of socials and event collaborations with other societies to offer new experiences for our members to try new things and meet more people
-    Host our own fight events and join varsity to compete on home ground for our UCL community to see our fighters in action!
-    Form partnerships with sponsors to elevate our gear and training opportunities

Although I am new to leadership within MMA, I hope to bring my skillsets from other experiences to excel in this role. My previous leadership in large charity projects in Singapore, leading teams with over 200 members, gave me experience working in large teams to accomplish a variety of goals. Furthermore, it enabled me to become particularly experienced at handling partnerships, which would be especially useful to build relationships with other societies, corporate partners, and other universities. Overall, I hope to have this chance to bring UCL MMA further than its ever gone

This will be my 3rd year standing for President of the UCL Mixed Martial Arts Club (MMAC).

I am standing to finish out the development of this club for future students who wish to engage in one of the best, most fun, and most practical martial arts, Mixed Martial Arts.

This year remaining I am focused on bringing the first ever Inter-Uni fight event with our team of executives and managers under UCL MMAC.

Next year my primary focus will be to continue what we have already and further, to:

1. Develop a UCL MMAC group trip to Thailand for training and recreation.

2. Expand our access to new trainers by ending our contract with a managing agent that has limited us this last year.

3. Finalise a training system for beginners and advanced.

4. Add a 4th training day while keeping the cost of membership comparably in line with this year.

5. Finish the UCL MMAC Member Manual, the UCL MMAC Leadership & Management Manual, and the Shared Drive Updates to the club organisational process assets.

I thank you all for the two years you have trusted me to develop this club and I ask that you give me this final year to finish up the initial development of this club so future students have an organised, easily accessible, well-running machine to enjoy for the years to come.

Maciej K Piechocki

I would like to maintain the high level quality of trainings, help newcomers with settling in, and also serve as a general binding force during the trainings. I believe that no matter the skill level, everyone should learn something new from training every time they come and to achieve that, they need to feel both comfortable and safe when practicing. In my view, maintaining these two qualities is the most important for personal growth, especially for those who want to improve their technique, not just the strength aspects.
