MedTech Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone! I’m Erica Park, a second year Natural Sciences student and am applying for the role of Treasurer. 

This year, as a Chair of Women in MedTech, I was able to fully immerse myself into the logistics and organisation of our first in-person conference, from the initial ideas of the event to panel discussions and networking sessions to help broaden our members’ knowledge and interest in the subject. It was an incredibly insightful experience working with the committee team, and I would like to take the organisational and communication skills I learnt this year to benefit the society further by taking charge of the financial management next year.

As a treasurer, I am to:

• Present more career-based opportunities such as insight days at partnering companies 
• Gain more sponsorships from external institutions to help fund our various conferences and workshops
• Form partnerships with other internal and external societies to allow for events that are more interdisciplinary, and for our members to be able to discover broader areas within MedTech and other fields of science and entrepreneurship

With my analytical skills I acquired from my science degree, I will work diligently and consistently to effectively communicate with both the society and the student union to create more beneficial events to take place for all of our members.
