Life Science Society: Social Secretary

Hi I’m Joyce and I’m a first year Biomedical Science student. I believe that social events are a great way to bring people together and create a sense of community. As Social Secretary, I will organise diverse events for our members. I am excited to collaborate with other members to create memorable experiences that everyone can enjoy.

I have experience in event management from organising school social events, including a Halloween party that received positive feedback. I planned and coordinated the decorations, food, and activities to ensure that everyone had an enjoyable experience. I have also organised a formal dinner for 300+ students, which involved arranging for catering and seating plan, and coordinating with multiple performers. This experience has equipped me with the skills necessary to execute large-scale events, and I am excited to apply this knowledge to the society.

As the President of the dance team at my old school, I organised a dance show and led team practise, which improved my communication and leadership abilities.

In addition, I enjoy interacting with others. I believe that this quality will enable me to connect with members and make them feel comfortable during events. As Social Secretary, I will strive to create an inclusive environment for all members.

With my experience in event planning and team management, I am confident in my ability to bring exciting and engaging social events to the Life Science Society as the Social Secretary!
