Having been a lacrosse captain before I have a good sense of how to manage a team, as well as having multiple lacrosse playlists already set up to lift energy throughout training and match warm-ups. I have an immense love of the sport, and a great care for the people within our lacrosse community so there is no doubt bringing energy and effort to the role will come with ease. Having an established presence at both the socials, occasionally mixed lacrosse, and of course working hard at training, will mean I only build stronger bonds with our team. These bonds will hopefully enable an even healthier lacrosse environment, were we inspire each other and provide a community of people to turn to if they need support, and who feel comfortable raising any issues. As Tats mentioned we also hope to improve the quality of training sessions as well as introduce more opportunities in the week for our teammates to work on their skills in a fun and competitive way. Being in second year and co-captaining enables us to devote more time to the sport across the board, and therefore hopefully providing a high quality of captaincy.

LIVE LAUGH LAX,

Lily :)

Having been eager to join UCL lacrosse from the get-go and having had perhaps far too many years running around the field with sticks, I would absolutely love to face the challenge of captaining this insanely talented team!

As a keen fresher, I feel like I have a LOT of energy to bring to this team and I'm willing to go above and beyond to try and improve the strength and bonds within our team, both on and off the pitch. So far, I have absolutely loved representing team UCL and have quite literally adopted the mantra of ‘bleeding purple’. I feel genuinely passionate about the sport and extremely excited about what the future holds for us.

Our season has already proven to be extremely successful and I believe our winning streaks will only get stronger. Fostering a more inclusive, energetic, and strong bond between our team members is at the forefront of my mind and I wish to do this via a few methods, whether that be introducing more post-match team meals, perhaps a few more training sessions and more generally, more informal opportunities to socialise outside of Wednesdays.

The thought of leading this team is super exciting to me and I only hope to continue to do as good a job as Issey has shown us!

Tats :)
