Adithi L Harikrishnan

Until joining kcsoc in september, I found it very difficult in my first two years at UCL to connect with my spirituality and religion. I had been trying to study the gita for years and had a passion for Hinduism but had no place in uni to explore this and study further. This year kcsoc has given me that space.

Kcsoc has not only provided me the space to do this but also a community. Every week at gita circles I have been connecting with people with a similar love for Hinduism and a hunger to learn more. It has also given me a group to explore spaces like studio 108 and understand places in London which were available to me.

I hope to continue this legacy next year, and hopefully carry on the work of Mukund and the rest of the current committee!

Soumitr Deshpande

I am standing because KCSoc has had an impact on my life ever since I joined. I found people who are like-minded and can have deep conversations with in terms of theology and spirituality. Gita circles are a very good example of this; ever since I have started attending regularly, I have noticed how the teachings apply in my life. More importantly it feels that whatever I am contemplating is eventually answered or discussed in Gita circles. Another example was the day retreat where I met many people who I could discuss spirituality with. It confirmed that I fitted in with such a beautiful society.

I feel that I would be able give back to the society in whatever ways necessary. I am not applying for the major roles because I'd rather be able to assist ad hoc.

Nitai Chandode
Shivanshi Bhatt

I've really enjoyed joining to all the kcsoc events this year and I'd love to help out with organising more next year! Here to have fun and make friends :)

Dhyani Chennaiahgari

Hare Krishna,

I would like to put myself forward to join the committee as an opportunity to give back to a community that has given me so much throughout my life. As a child, my mother took me to participate in Gita classes and ISKCON kirtans - I had never felt such a pure and consuming joy. Coming to Gita Circles this year has inspired me to try to connect with the messages of the Gita on a personal level and begin to apply them in my life. In terms of my suitability for this role, last year I was one of the leads for Balaji Temple Youth Camp and was involved in the organising and overseeing of a week long spiritual youth retreat. This experience developed my leadership skills, my ability to work in a team effectively, manage timetables and coordinate large scale events. It deepened my knowledge of Hinduism (though of course I am still just scratching the surface on my personal journey), and gave me many connections from ISKCON, NHSF and other religious leaders/speakers that would love to collaborate with us. I have many ideas on what I could contribute towards this society - I attend weekly yoga sessions and have been practising since a young age. I am also trained in classical carnatic vocals and enjoy devotional expression through Kirtan. Sanatana Dharma truly means a lot to me and I would be so grateful for the opportunity to work with other like-minded young people in maintaining the incredible platform KCSOC has created for us to build a beautiful community here.

Bhakti Kataria
Manav R Parekh

Since September 2021, I have been actively involved in the UCL Krishna Consciousness Society. One of my roles has been to assist with the logistics of collecting prasadam from the Soho temple and delivering it to the event venue.

During my time so far, I have had the opportunity to interact with numerous attendees and establish meaningful relationships. It would be my pleasure to extend this same opportunity to prospective members.

I am enthusiastic about continuing to contribute to our society's success and becoming an integral member of the committee in the upcoming year. :)
