K-POP Society: Tech Officer

Hi, this is Spark! I'm running for tech officer in the K-pop soc. My reasons are as follows:

Firstly, participating in major events and high school and uni dance productions offered me practical experience. I filmed graduation videos in high school and participated in live graduation ceremonies. These events involved communication and interaction between various departments and classes within the school. At uni, I was actively engaged in cover filming. I interacted with the current tech officer, Shivali. I discussed filming methods with various leaders and members at large events etc. Additionally, I have learnt video production and editing skills in uni courses (Philosophy of Film) and social media (YouTube and Bilibili) over the past two years.

I have also developed some ideas for improving K-pop soc:

Firstly, there are limited ways for new members who want to get involved in SOC to receive information. I suggest we use more communication platforms such as WhatsApp, WeChat etc. To promote and post events and videos so that more people can learn about and participate in society while promoting it (both the publicity officer and tech officer have this duty.

Secondly, I am willing to collaborate with external societies to create joint projects and benefits, especially with the UCL stage crew and external private groups like SOKOLLAB.

That's why I'm running and THX;).

I have been a member of this society for two years and have always been interested in K-pop. As a member of the society, I have been involved in various events and activities, and I understand society's goals and objectives. I am passionate about using technology to enhance the society's activities and events, and I believe my experience and knowledge will be an asset to the tech team.

I am also a year 2 media student. I am passionate about all aspects of digital production and have some technical skills, including graphic design and video editing. I am experienced in filming dance covers, editing videos and music, creating thumbnails, and any other regular filming projects. I am willing to learn new skills as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the tech officer. 

In addition to my technical skills, As someone already familiar with the society, I am committed to working collaboratively with the other members of the tech team and the society's leadership to ensure that our efforts align with the society's goals. I am committed to leveraging my skills and knowledge to realize this. Whether through developing high-quality graphics or producing compelling videos, I am eager to explore new ways to enhance society's visual presentation.

Overall, my goal as a tech officer is to ensure that the society's visual presentation is of the highest possible quality and effectively communicates its message to soceity members and the wider community.
