Italian Society: Vice President

Ciao tutti! I am Danilo and from Ravenna & London and I would love to be your Vice President next year! I was VP of the Italian Society last year (2021–22) and president of the European Society these past 2 years, in addition to other roles, and thus I have a lot of experience in leading societies and creating fun socials! I also have a lot of experience in helping with the organisation and teaching of language classes. As VP I will ensure that there are fortnightly events for the Italian Society (such as aperitivos, movie nights, pub socials, quizzes, pasta making and more!)  – the main purpose will be for Italians and non Italians to meet eachother and make friends, and to have fun! I will also reach out to other Italians societies across the UK (and beyond) and host online & in-person events for our members in order to create even more networking opportunities and (more importantly) friendships. Additionally, I want to create even more language learning/improving opportunities – such as specific learner levels groupchats and language coffee afternoons – in addition to the fantastic language lessons. I also want to showcase Italy more to non Italians (such as through presentations from students about the art, the history, the fashion etc) and also showcase the regional languages of Italian (such as Sicilian). Ciao a tutti! I am Karina and I would love to represent the Italian society as the Vice President.

As a proud and active member of this society, I am running for this position because I have a deep love and passion for Italian culture, traditions and language and I would love to share this enthusiasm with others. As Vice President, I will work effectively alongside our president and other committee members in making our Italian society more inclusive, educational and fun! Also, I am passionate about helping to build a strong and welcoming community within our society through events and initiatives that will attract new members into our society, strengthen the bonds between existing ones and bring people together. 

By electing me as the Vice President, I will:

-help to create engaging events and activities that celebrate all aspects of Italian culture.

-participate in all the Committee's meetings to make sure that everyone's voice is valued and heard.

-help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members

I am confident that my passion for Italian culture, my leadership skills, and my dedication to community involvement make me the ideal candidate for Vice President of the Italian Society
