Iranian Society: President

Hello everyone, 

I'm Artemis, and I vow to implement two simple policies: 1) Providing means to support the revolution and 2) increased socials. This is all so that Iranians here at UCL can stay connected. 

Private space:

Considering the current situation in Iran, we should all have access to means of supporting our fellow Iranians abroad. I promise to provide a space for Iranians at UCL to, if they wish, discuss matters privately (no phones), and organise meet-ups for protests. 

Also, this way Iranian Society can ensure that UCL adequately and sufficiently supports Iranian students should they require any help. 

Socials:

Sometimes it's good to just chill and hang out. That's why I promise to hold at least 1 social a week either on or near campus and at least 1 event every term for bigger occasions. If it's just a film screening in a lecture theatre or a drink, as long as it gets us out of the library, I think we can have some fun!

Why would I make a good President?

Over the last 6 months, much of my time has been dedicated to supporting those in Iran and spreading awareness. For example, during the World Cup, I designed and made an alternative football shirt (non-profit) to the one which represents the IR and its symbols. On another occasion, I held a film screening with Film soc to share with others what is happening in Iran and what they can do to help. I hope this demonstrates that as President, I will realise the aforementioned vows and expand the society.
