I am keen to join Intellectual Property society as an external liaison officer as I believe that through collaboration with other societies, IP society will be able to offer practical help e.g. by improving access to IP rights information, especially for student start-ups and other student societies such as film society. By organising such collaborative events, IP society will also better understand how their efforts affects the working world thereby improving their knowledge about IP rights in a real-world context.

This academic year I took on the role of Sponsorship and Careers Director of the Afro-Caribbean Society (ACS) . The position has shown me how much I throughly enjoy communicating and negotiating with corporate sponsors. Having individually secured 12 sponsors for the ACS, I am confident that I will be able to use the connections I have fostered across various law firms for the total betterment of the IP society. This will be both financial but also experiencial as I will help facilitate for firms to participate in society events. Alongside my experience with external relations, my ACS role has allowed me to connect and collaborate with other UCL societies for careers events. As the External Liaison Officer, I will build upon existing relationships with UCL and UoL societies and develop new ones to ensure the IP Soc thrives.
Moreover, I have a personal interest in potentially entering into the Intellectual Property practice area once entering the corporate law environment. With this in mind, I will be a passionate advocate not only within my capacity as External Liaison Officer but also as a student who will want to see the society flourish.
Finally, I am excited to be at the forefront of the Intellectual Property Society as it embarks on it's first full academic year of existence. It would be an honor to help lay the foundations for what will become a leading national society.
