Hockey Club (Women's): 3XI Captain

I’ve decided to stand for 3rd XI captain after an AMAZING year as part of UCLWHC. I joined hockey feeling really nervous, but was so welcomed by the existing members, which is something I feel is so important especially when joining a team sport. I have been a dedicated member of the 3s; turning up to training, playing in matches, fully immersing myself in the weekly socials and having an outstanding Scala turnout rate.

If chosen as captain one of my mains goals would be to create a welcoming and friendly family for the freshers to feel a part of next year (just as I have experienced this year) ,by having team pres, dinners and social events with others teams within the club to allow for INtegration within women’s hockey.  I will STRONGLY encourage the new freshers to participate in the weekly socials, as I feel this is such an important part of hockey and I want the 3s to be known as a fun and fabulous team within the club.

Although I have never completed a Wednesday night without being sick, would rather wear a pint of Guinness than drink it and can’t cope without the 4s star player Vanessa by my side, I feel like I posses other qualities which would make me a good team captain. I am organised, resilient, motivational and most of all determined to make sure the 3s have another BEAUTIFUL year of hockey!
