Yangling Tong
Hey EISPS Soc!
I'm Yangling, a 1st-year ISPS student standing for the Secretary-General position! It was a pleasure of being apart of this little family that we call the EISPS department and I believe that together, we can improve clarity within EISPS!
A little bit about myself. In the past, I've partaken in various executive positions in school societies and in international NGOs. My time serving as President of my high school's Arts Council, and as Vice-President of the NGO "SJMF" for example, has taught me the value of cooperation, intitative, and organisation when working within a team.
Furthermore, my time working with the Ontarian & Canadian government has also provided me with great insight into how departments communicate with one another. I also learnt how national governments proficiently handle documents, summarise meetings, and create reports which will help me greatly towards this position.
My main goal for the society would be emphasizing clear communication between the EISPS departement and students. I saw that us students were constantly out of the loop with course/department updates (such as the year-abroad or module selections) which can be resolved thorugh more communciation with department heads. I propose to use the society as a middlemen for this through society update newsletters!
Overall, I hope that my platform and experiences will entice you to vote for me as the next EISPS Soc Secretary-General and together, we can make an impact in EISPS!
