Environmental, Social and Governance Society: President

It is through organisations such as ‘Environmental, Social and Governance’ that sustainability changes are happening in corporations. As President last year the inspiration I felt organising events made me realise how I wanted to help this society grow further, to assist students to understand the ESG impact they can have. Therefore I am applying to be President again. 

I helped start the society, from initialising SU affiliation to executing our flagship career event. Throughout the 15 events in the year I have enhanced teamwork, organisation skills and dedication. As President I also learnt what it means to lead and motivate a team to promote the committee message. As well as dealing with budgeting and financing of events, while communicating with speakers and partners.

Furthermore, I learnt the impact innovation has to maximise potential. Therefore, if selected as President again I would finalise projects such as gaining more sponsors through business collaborations. I would enhance our research department for more in-depth articles about the growing ESG landscape to help all members keep up to date. Also, I would expand the diversification of our events to touch upon all industries from law, finance to public policy. Additionally, next year I would explore the opportunity for members to get involved in ESG-style volunteering. 

I believe my past society experiences, excellent work ethic and enthusiastic personality make me a strong candidate for this position.
