Economics and Finance Society: Treasurer

My name is Aakanksha and I believe that I would be a suitable candidate for this role. Having worked as both a data analyst (1 year) and a social media coordinator (3+ years), I strongly believe that I have the right experience to thrive in this position. These roles refined my analytical and leadership skills which will aid me as treasurer. My vision for EFS is as follows:

1) Long-Term Plan: I will develop a long-term financial plan for the society, outlining our goals and objectives for the next few years. This plan would help us allocate our resources effectively and ensure that we are able to meet our financial commitments. Additionally, it would also allow us to make strategic decisions about how we want to grow as a society.

2) Fiscal Responsibility: As treasurer, I will ensure that the society's funds are managed responsibly. I will develop a budget that is realistic and sustainable, and I will work to make sure that the society does not overspend. This will entail negotiating with sponsors to get the best prices and making sure that all expenses are justified, which I have done previously, as mentioned below.

3) Fundraising: Seeking out fundraising opportunities for the society. This will include new sponsors, events, and encouraging members to contribute financially. The more money raised, the more we can do as a society, and the more we can give back to our members. 

As the treasurer, I will commit to delivering a financially stable, sustainable and successful budget.

Hello! I'm Sunny, an Economics student, running to be the Treasurer at EFS for next year.

As the current treasurer at UCL Hedge Fund Society, and an incoming spring intern at JPMorgan, RBC Capital Markets, KPMG and Maven Securities, I believe I am well equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in this job. My experience include shadowing the President, taking care of all financial matters in the society, providing ideas of ways to restructure and improve agendas of the society as well as working with other committee members for a better outlook of the society.

This year, to strengthen the society's finances, my main agenda will be as follows:

• Consolidation: Promoting spending through a centralised approach, and seeking for additional funding through organising more sponsored events.
• Connection: Building relationships with external stakeholders, such as potential corporate sponsors, in order to maximise the society’s financial resources.
• Inclusion: Increasing efficiency within the society and smoothing the budget approval system by allowing departments to work closer to each other, enhancing long term growth and generating positive returns.
• Communication: Introducing policies to allocate funds, lowering costs, and maximising our abilities to pursue new objectives.
