Hi there, I’m Simran and I’m running to be the treasurer for Dementia Research Society!

As a second-year BSc Neuroscience student with an avid interest in neurodegenerative disorders, I believe that I have both the required dedication, as well as the resources and understanding to drive this society forward. Being the secretary of the society this year has allowed me to become familiar with the society and work on projects to benefit, expand and develop DRS for you.

As your DRS treasurer, I aim to further grow this society into a prominent force for positive change and scientific growth at UCL, so that future students can have the opportunity to learn and connect with like-minded individuals committed to this increasingly relevant societal issue beyond the classroom.

If given the privilege to be your officially elected treasurer, I will dedicate my time and efforts towards enhancing the society’s budgeting and finances. This will allow our society to provide you with larger-scale events such as networking opportunities and collaborations with other societies. With this role, I will also aim to oversee the funding to collaborate with charities, allowing you to contribute in any possible way to improve the lives of dementia patients. Lastly, I aspire to organise aesthetic merch for the society, and manage funding for this.

I hope to work with the DRS team as your treasurer next year, thank you!
