Debating Society: Publicity Officer

I have been a member of Debating society since freshers and want to take on a bigger role in final year. As the current technology officer, I feel publicity officer is a natural progression and that it is a role I am suited for. I promise to keep the social media account active, engaging and inclusive.

Hi all,

As a passionate debater with experience in managing social media accounts, I am confident in my ability to effectively communicate the society's events and achievements through various online platforms. I am committed to ensuring that our social media content radiates warm energy and light humour and that the feed on Instagram looks as aesthetic as possible. My qualifications align well with the requirements of this role for the following reasons:

• I am adept at using Adobe Creative Suite software and Canva to create visually appealing graphics and videos for social media posts (and can work in a variety of graphic styles - from minimalism to edgy brutalism). 
• I have plenty of ideas for new social media campaigns and initiatives that will increase engagement and attract a wider audience to the society's events, such as Q&A sessions with our debaters, behind-the-scenes glimpses of our events, and interactive quizzes on various topics related to debating and public speaking. 
• I can analyse social media metrics and use this data to inform future content strategy and to continuously improve the quality and reach of our social media presence.

If elected, I will also seek out partnerships with other societies and organisations on campus to promote our events and initiatives to as many people as possible. Thank you for reading this, hope to have your support in this election!
