Chloe Ip

Hey, this is Chloe, and I’m running for the resident choreographer position next year. I enjoy doing commercial street, heels type of dance! I’ve participated in this year’s 24Hr show as a choreographer, a dancer in the Freshers show and the upcoming blooms show, and both a dancer and producer for Triple Bill (big love prod team <3). I enjoyed watching the bids and then seeing everyone’s effort in full cast rehearsals, and finally, when the show was on, it was satisfying. Having experienced being the freshers’ representative this year, I believe I gained quite a bit of insight into how the dance society works. I also know the basics of being part of a committee in the dance society, which is to do class duty and take part in committee meetings every week, and be there for all of our shows. I always see our current resident choreographer putting her effort into leading warm-ups, teaching us finales, and organising the bow orders at the end of shows. I gained interest in this role as I love to dance, and choreographing the finales provides me a chance to dance the way I like it. And even though I might not be familiar with every dance style, I am prepared to help other choreographers who might need some inspiration! I wish to be your resident choreographer so that I can contribute to the dance society and help with the productions we will be having, so I hope you will give me a chance to be part of the committee next year!

Auriane Milot

Hey everyone, my name’s Auriane and I’m running for resident choreographer. Dance has been such a huge proportion of my life, especially these past few months in Dance Soc and it has all been extremely fulfilling. This society has given me so much that I want to give back by being on committee. I was already choreographing for fun before joining UCL, but it is during the Fresher’s Show that I truly learned how rewarding choreographing was.

I believe I have a wide range of knowledge in dance styles. I have more training in (modern) jazz, contemporary and ballet, but I’ve also done disco freestyle (for the ISTD peeps out there) for a couple of years and took regular open classes in street, dancehall and cuban salsa. I also believe that my participation in the various shows Dance Soc had to offer really expanded my knowledge and will help me in being the best resident choreographer possible.

I am aware that a big role of this position is to guide choreographers in their own creative process. I would be stoked to help them, and give them my insights. That way we can, hopefully, get all inspired by each other.

Something that I can promise you is that I will work extremely hard in this position, and I already have so many songs for the finales !
