Rowing for the past two years, one off committee and one on, has highlighted the importance of having an effective and fast acting committee. As Rowing Secretary I will provide an effective rowing sub-structure which will have the following commitments:

- Improve the committee's communication and understanding with the Union to facilitate rowing events like races and training camps.

- Determine that all such events can be fairly accessed by all members of the club irrespective of squad.

- Reduce the inherent expense of rowing so that the sport is more accessible. This would be achieved by talks with the Union for increased financial support, which will be helped by the Union's increased understanding of the nature of rowing.

- Ensure that decisions related to races and camps are communicated clearly and promptly to the club.

- Prioritise early race entries, by fixing deadlines with committee, to allow the club to race at national and local event like BUCS Head & Regatta, HWR & HRR, Head of the River (Men and Women), Pairs & Fours Head, and any other races that the club wants to compete in.

Rowing Secretary would provide an ideal challenge for me as I enjoy the personal level of dealing with other captains, coaches, organisers, and facilitating the love of rowing to others which was provided by to me by previous committees.
