Hi all,
I am a second-year Philosophy and History of Art student with a strong interest in the art industry and extensive experience in event planning. I am confident that my organisational skills, creativity, and attention to detail will guarantee that Art Business society events are both memorable and enjoyable for all attendees. My qualifications align well will the requirements of this role for the following reasons:
- Having organised multiple competitions for the UCL Debating Society, I have developed the skills necessary to manage logistics and ensure that events run smoothly, while also being able to handle unexpected challenges that may arise. Furthermore, this experience has taught me how to communicate effectively with guest speakers and the SU.
- If elected, I will leverage my network of contacts in the art industry to secure unique and exclusive opportunities such as tours of museums, galleries, art fairs, and networking events with professionals of the field. I will also collaborate with other societies and organisations to broaden the scope of events hosted by the UCL Art Business Society.
- I will actively seek feedback from members to ensure that our events meet their expectations and needs. It's important for me that events hosted by the Art Business Society are inclusive and provide a welcoming environment for everyone.
Thank you for reading this, hope to have your support in this election!
Hi everyone! My name is Savanah James and I am currently a first year history of art student. I am running for a position because I believe in the society’s mission and absolutely love the chill, welcoming vibe that it has created so far :) Given my amazing first year experience, I want to amp up my current involvement going into the next year!!
I have just attained a position as a EDI (equality, diversity, & inclusion) student journalist within the history of art department and have published work in art journals on bridging religious divides through art. I hold multiple national debate titles in the US and would love this opportunity to solidify some of my experience into a way to contribute to the society!
I LOVE meeting new people and have absolutely zero shame in reaching out to potential speakers and building connections throughout the field. As a kid, my dream job was to be a wedding planner and I absolutely love anything that has to do with planning, organisation, and turning visions into real life events. I look forward to making our pub socials, our talks, and our gallery visits well planned and well organised for your benefit :) From handling the logistics of our visits, incorporating and getting to know new first years next year, maintaining the high quality of our events, and of course, planning and picking the best pubs for us to socialise in, I can definitely foresee myself making many useful contributions as your Deputy Events Officer!
To me, engaging with diverse Art Business events has been inspiring in many different ways, whether it is art, people or places. Being an active member of society, along with my passion for art and event planning, I am driven to nominate for this position. By running for Deputy Event Officer, I want to contribute my experience working with event management in different museums and art spaces and my enthusiasm for interpersonal communication. I am committed to making the events interesting, dynamic, and inclusive, as the experience of all members of the Art Business Society is paramount to me. I am responsible and value work efficiency while paying great attention to details. This role is of great importance to me as I want to bring a positive impact to the community's encounter with arts and further to the continued progress of the society.
