I've really loved being a part of this club since I was a fresher and have made many lovely friends while truly enjoying spending time in the club! Having been a part of the committee for 2 years as women's captain I can only dream to be near the standard of our current Pres but I will try this unachievable feat.

Being UH women's captain last year, I would like to integrate us with other medical schools - we will have socials and tournaments with other clubs and would be a great opportunity to meet other students and future colleagues. We might not beat them in tennis (dw this will change when I become Pres), but we will beat them in club spirit and enthusiasm.

Having the experience of designing UH kit, I would like to give the shitty Akuma a glow-up so we don't look like school kids from lost property, and make something that for once looks wearable and affordable.

Looking for endorsements I was given a "Okay yah sure thang" from Laurie and a "That's exciting" from Jayden, two game-changing presidents (game isn't referring to tennis). Ned aired me.

Although competition is high, I have all the attributes to be the best female RUMS tennis Pres we have ever had (of which we have had none), and believe I would smash it (as I do with my overheads, into the net). Upon election I will throw a house party (only the people who vote for me can come, champagne is provided from club budget).

Much love, Maria x

Kirshun Suvendiran

As a member of RUMS Tennis since day 1, I can honestly say it’s played such a huge role in my university experience. I’ve managed to hit a few balls over the net from time-to-time (if they land in is a different story), I’ve made such good friends (not you Abs) and just had an amazing time. I love everything about the club and would love to lead it next year if given the opportunity.

After the presidency of Laurie, I’ve got big shoes to fill. As treasurer this year, I got the opportunity to understand what it takes to lead this club, compassion, patience and most importantly, a lack of tennis ability. I think I’ve got what it takes.

But on a serious note, I am very interested in organising more charity events like our 24-hour tennis match (big up Kev) and potentially collaborating with other societies, both RUMS and UCL, to try and poach freshers.

If elected, working with our social secs, I will make sure an international tour happens next year (as long as a new pandemic doesn’t pop up). It’s something I’ve never experienced in university, and I think it will be a great opportunity to go away, forget about our work for a bit and just relax.

I would love the opportunity to give back to the club in the same way it’s given to me, and hopefully give other people the incredible experience I’ve had.
