Hi, I’m Lewis and I’m running to be the next president of Stage Crew society. I joined in September 2021 and since then have worked on 5 Bloomsbury shows and 2 externals (so far!) either as a part of or leading the lighting team.

My main goal for the upcoming year is to make it easier for people without experience to get involved and learn. I aim to do this by:

  • Encouraging shadowing of those with more experience, especially in term 1.
  • Running an Externals workshop to train people on the externals kit.
  • Working with the Bloomsbury Theatre team to make the training sessions even more useful and engaging.
  • Maintaining handbooks for the major crew roles, that are both specific to the unique demands of UCL Stage Crew and relevant to the role more generally.

While I haven’t been a member for that long, I’ve really found a home here among so many incredibly talented and hardworking people. Since joining, Stage Crew has very quickly become my favourite thing about UCL, and it would be an honour to lead our society in the next academic year.
