Yatin Airi

Hey everyone! I am Yatin Airi, a first-year Economics student running for the next VP of mentorship.

Having been a mentor under an NGO and being a mentee under the Aspiring Interns mentorship programme, I have an in-depth understanding of how the timeline works for the application process and mentorship cycles and will be able to make these programs rigorous and fruitful for all participants.

I aim at diversifying mentoring to the spectrum of financial-legal-technological consultancy, with the introduction of collaborations with multidisciplinary firms and societies from different universities, making the programme more inclusive for mentees who wish to participate. I can achieve this from my experience as a representative for the national round table conference where I interacted with sponsors and alumni of prestigious schools of India.

I want to introduce a firm-specific assessment simulation; the mentees will follow a staged application process. CVs and cover letters will be submitted for the respective firm and division, furthermore a mock assessment centre will be created for conducting interviews.

This will provide a first-hand experience to mentees whereas mentors can provide personalised feedback after observing the mentees throughout the workshop.

I will make the mentorship division diverse yet inclusive and ensure all members benefit from the aims implemented. I hope to get your votes to achieve this!

Daniel Louis Clarke

Hi everyone, I’m Daniel! A 1st year History student running for the Consulting Society VP Mentorship position!
Having recently joined Project Access as a trainee to mentor sixth formers from underprivileged backgrounds hoping to get into top unis, and by actively participating in different social clubs organised by the charity North London Cares where I mentor old and young people, I believe that I have the experience to lead and expand the Consulting Society's Mentorship Scheme.

Some of my main plans are:
Organise weekly CV / Cover letter workshops, both in person and virtual ones, to ensure that every member of the Consulting Society will receive tips and advice on how to write an excellent, top-notch CV!
Work with the Case Studies VP to develop bi-weekly case study practise sessions, including through Kouncil, an organisation that I'm a member of, to help students improve their case study skills and develop commercial awareness and business acumen.

Hold mock interview scenarios and practices with other students to help them develop their confidence and verbal communication skills.

And finally, Provide all Consulting Society members with a monthly progress report as well as a Zoom Session. This will be an opportunity for you to provide me with any feedback or to raise any issues or queries.

Thank you for reading this, and please drop me an email at [email protected]. I'd love to hear from you!

Niharika Lal

Hi everyone, I’m Niharika Lal, a first year Economics student running for the post of VP of mentorship. UCL consulting society has provided me with numerous opportunities, and I would like to contribute more towards the society by becoming a part of the senior committee. I have been an active member of the society throughout the year, and I believe I’m an ambitious candidate.

My experience at Curaty as a consultant has helped me build strong relationships and learn how to work efficiently in teams. As a mentee at the UCL consulting society mentorship programme, I got the opportunity to network with professionals from Accenture.

If I’m elected as your next VP of mentorship, I aim to achieve 4 main goals:

  • Build a diverse team of consultants from companies such as Bain, KPMG to mentor our members who are planning on building a career in consultancy.
  • Conduct socials where all the mentees and mentors can meet and discuss about potential career paths.
  • Allow mentors to be flexible with the extent to which mentors meet with mentees and ensure that mentors send emails on a regular basis to check whether everyone is on track or not.
  • Ensure that I’m easily approachable if an issue is raised.

Most importantly, your feedback is much appreciated. Feel free to drop an email at [email protected] if you have any questions. Thank you for your consideration!

Zara Mahesh Ratnani

Hi everyone. My name is Zara Ratnani and I am running for the position of the VP of Mentorship. Having experience as Head Girl at high school has immensely enhanced my communication, networking and leadership skills, all of which would equip me in making the most out of this position.

As an open-minded individual that is able to communicate well with others, I aim to reach out to many prominent industry professionals and UCL alumni working in consulting firms, in the hopes of providing members with insightful information. In addition, I plan to:

  1. Host workshops that will educate members on ways to build on their networking and communication skills
  2. Organise mentorship opportunities for members as well as pitch the Mentorship Program to potential mentors
  3. Contact consultants in firms to speak at online/in-person events to share their experiences, tips and guidance to members
  4. Collaborate with other divisions of the society to host more social events in order for like-minded members to network, connect and share knowledge with one another.
  5. Get feedback from members regarding specific talks and opportunities they would like to experience

As the VP of Mentorship, I will put all my effort into making sure that members are provided with a multitude of opportunities that will enhance their knowledge, and allow them to gain invaluable skills that will allow them to thrive in the world of consulting.

Aldrie Chandradinata

Hi there, my name is Aldrie and I am a first-year Electronic and Electrical Engineering student!

Having been involved in the Consulting Society this past year, I was able to deepen my understanding of consulting and also gain valuable insights from industry professionals. Through my role as a VP of Mentorship, I intend to ensure that every Consulting Society member has the same opportunity to build on their interest in the consulting industry.

I believe that my experience organising the mentorship programme for UCL First-Gen Society as a First-Year Representative will be especially useful. I was able to reach the target number of consulting mentors required and have thus built a network of professional consultants who are willing to be a mentor.

As your next Mentorship VP, my objectives are:
1) Expand the mentorship programme both in terms of the number of mentors and mentees as well as the variety of consulting fields represented by our mentors.
2) Host in-person events to socialise with fellow mentees and network with mentors.
3) Facilitate mock assessment centre sessions between mentors and mentees.

If you'd like to see these objectives being implemented, I would greatly appreciate your support.
