After 2 years as Social Media Secretary, it’s time to shake things up! For my final year I’d like to put myself forward for the more serious role of Treasurer.
My experience in my current role has given me excellent communication skills that will help when liaising with the union. Whilst I don’t study finance, my biochemistry degree has refined my mathematics which will help in calculations and has enhanced my analytical skills which will be of use when examining the potential benefits and drawbacks of certain expenditures. I am highly involved in all aspects of the club, from playing for the 1st team to attending our amazing socials, so I understand what is required in terms of trainings, games, and socials for this club to run successfully.
Also, living solely on the maintenance loan I have learnt to be strategic with my spending and saving. However, I will always be open to more opportunity’s for training sessions, merchandise, end of season celebrations and more!
If I were to become treasurer I would bring the utmost professionalism to the role and look forward to working closely with the President in the running and administrative aspects of the club. If given the opportunity, I would also love to look for extra sponsorship opportunities for more funding.
I hope I have proven myself to be a worthy candidate and can count on your vote to be treasurer for the club I love most.
Hi! My name is Janka and I am running for the role of Treasurer. I am a second year Ancient World student. I have been involved with basketball ever since I can remember. Last year, I had the opportunity to work in a team organising a graduation camp and ceremony, where I have gained experience in administration, budgeting, and time management. Based on these skills, my passion for basketball, and my dedication to everything I start working on, I would make the perfect candidate for the role.
Luisa and I decided to run for the positions of Treasurer and President together because we know we work really well as a team, and this way we can support each other and make sure everything runs smoothly. Basketball has been a significant part of both of our lives for more than 10 years now. That is why we both joined UCL women’s basketball club as soon as we started studying here. After being in the club for 2 years, we would like to take on more responsibility and help develop our club. Being involved with the first-, second-, and LUSL team we gained insight into the different aspects the club has to offer, and we would like to use this experience to improve the communication between the different teams and organise more playing opportunities for everyone.
We hope to make UCLWB both a competitive basketball club and a fun and inclusive space for all to be in.
