AI society this year has organised many events with a keynote speakers, professors and professionals in the area. I would like to continue this 'relay race' by communicating and colaborating with experts at various universities and organisations and running hackathons with likeminded people to establish connections in the future (and maybe initiate a start-up who knows).

You might be wondering why am I suitable for this role? Well, I have been representing people from my course this year so dealing with authority figures and academics is what I'm skilled at. Moreover, as a fundraiser for Sapphire foundation I have some experience in attracting funds and seeking different opportunities for students to engage with.

For outreach next year we may not only organise and run hackathons in collaboration with other universities but also attend different networking events. For example, Huawei had an event to attract young developers into research in their company which may help members of artificial intelligence society start their own project or find an internship. Furthemore, we could include different freelance opportunities in the weekly newsletter.

I have enjoyed being part of AI society this year and wish to be of great help in the future!

It has been a great experience to be a part of the UCL AI Society as a First Year Rep. I enjoyed working in the Climate Hack, Events, and Outreach teams, and learning from the dedicated committee members. In the upcoming year, I hope to contribute more to this community by running for the Head of Outreach.

AI Society has been doing an amazing job organizing weekly socials and high-quality events. Inspired by the committee’s vision to further innovate the delivery of these activities, I want to ensure that we have all the resources and connections we need. As the Head of Outreach, I will be working to reach a wide range of potential sponsors, establishing closer ties with alumni, and creating opportunities for members to participate in real-world projects. As the UCL AI Society continues to lead Climate Hack next year, I am prepared to be closely involved in finding sponsors.

Having participated in communications work for different departments in this society, I am familiar with the responsibilities and needs of the team, as well as what works in establishing external connections. I feel ready and eager to take on the role of Head of Outreach so I can continue to further the goals of this committee and create memorable experiences for our members!
