Advertising, Marketing, and PR. I didn't realize how important these were until very recently. These elements help build brands and communicate with target audiences, and without this, most firms would not be able to sustain. After completing courses on Digital Marketing and Media Analytics, I developed a thorough understanding of market research techniques, social media, and web analytics leading me to apply, and successfully receive a three-week spring internship with Trash Gxng, a streetwear clothing brand rooted in social impact.

Leadership positions in Humanitarian Society and events like TEDx and MUNs not only fostered ideas of civic-mindedness and team development but also integrity and determination. My diverse experience in this sector includes being Brand Ambassador of The Curators, a Premium British Made Protein & Keto Snacks firm, member of the Social Media Marketing Team of CorStitch, a social enterprise, and Student Ambassador of UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. After every experience, I realized how marketing and advertising gave a voice to products, products that were ideas of hardworking and sincere innovators. Not only do I want to continue doing giving a voice and channel for these innovators, but I want to encourage people around to do so as well. To explore themselves creatively, whilst promoting products that are better for the society.

Ahmed Jamshaid

Hello everyone, I am Ahmed, known as AJ, a second-year Economics and Business Student.

I have been an active member of society this year. Also, being a committee member of other societies this year provided me with the mastership of directing a society. I came from a very business-oriented family, running the largest Outdoor Advertising firm in Pakistan. Being from such a background has exposed me to knowledge related to Marketing. I plan to utilize my knowledge by being the President of the society this year.

I believe society is particularly underrated among students. It has the potential to achieve more. I have the vision to make this society one of the biggest and most prestigious societies of UCL. We need to drive change. In addition to the current existing events lineup, I plan to add events of multiple interests for our members. It includes having some socials, in partnership with other societies, having career workshops with careers related to marketing and some coding or language tutoring and introducing some mentorship scheme for the members.

We all together can definitely attain that!

Nikita Vasyukov

Joining AMPSoc this year was a fascinating experience for me. I realised how much I love areas like marketing and it helped me in making prospective career plans. By nominating myself as a president, I want to give back to the society and do my best to create the best possible experience for next year’s members.

What I love about AMPSoc is that just as in advertisement, marketing and PR industries, every day you deal with something new. It ranges from a variety of invited speakers coming from different sectors to socials to AMPLIO - a brand consultancy programme. I intend to continue arranging and improving all of these (and more) based on the feedback to make sure that every society member finds something to their liking, builds new friendships along the way and shapes their decisions on future careers.

This year I’ve gained important organisational and collaborative skills which make me a good fit for the role. As a tech officer in Dance Society, I developed intra-team communication skills and being a marketing officer in Communication Society improved my time management and attention to detail.

I am very excited to get an opportunity to lead the society next year and if I do, I'm looking forward to making this society bigger and better than ever!
