What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
As a community officer at New Hall , i intend to achieve the integration of the students at New Hall by proposing and conducting bimonthly walks, outings and arranged study groups. I'll conduct surveys on what it is students really want and do my best to achieve it within my capabilities. My main intention is to create a community feel at new hall, so that no student feels isolated during their time of study at student accommodation.
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I have had previous experience in working as a personal assistant administrator which provided me with skills in organisation, research and time management. I was member for the All parliamentary group for youth affairs in which i used collaborative problem solving skills to address the issues facing the youth and lastly I've liaised with people at all structures of companies and thus have gained great communication and networking skills. I believe these skills increase my ability to act as a good community officer.

I'm a proactive, friendly individual who carries the best interest of the students at heart. I'll endeavor to improve the experience of students at new hall in both their studies and social life. It is for these reasons, that i believe students should vote for me.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
I hope to improve the social life at our hall. Our common room is usually empty with few events on and I have struggled to meet people from our hall. My main aim would be to improve the social spaces, planning events such as pres, board game tournaments, video game nights, etc hopefully on a weekly basis(depends on the budget). I am also hoping to add extra facilities to the common space like a ping pong table or pool table etc, I think it would be popular and a fun addition.
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I have studied in Glasgow, Northern Ireland and Hong Kong in my life, this multicultural experience makes me confident to be able to communicate with people from over the globe and provide a voice for my Chinese peers and also connect with people from other cultures.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
If I’m elected, I hope to advocate for any concerns or issues that students in our accommodation may be experiencing. I want everyone to feel they belong here, as I understand it can be challenging for some students to settle in. I aim to organise engaging activities and listen to student’s ideas for events. My goal is to create a supportive community where everyone feels comfortable. I will also work to ensure that we use the common room more often as a shared space.
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I bring a strong background in roles that require teamwork, communication, and a focus on community well-being. As a Peer Action Researcher, I have experience working collaboratively to understand and address the needs of a community, which has taught me to listen actively and empathise with different perspectives. Additionally, my role as a sports coach has strengthened my ability to engage with diverse groups and encourage participation, which will be valuable in fostering a welcoming environment in the hall.
