Govinder Singh Toor

Hello, I’m Govinder, a 3rd year medical student at UCL currently intercalating in Paediatrics and Child Health. I am enthusiastic about running for this role because I deeply admire the work carried out by MSF and aspire to work for them one day. So I am eager to contribute to their cause through fundraising.

My plans if elected:

  • Organise regular Bake Sales- this is the most effective way of raising money and spreading awareness. Will contact local shops for food donations towards this and a potential partnership with UCL Baking Society.
  • Get the whole society involved in fundraising events- increasing fundraising engagement within the society.
  • Boost awareness of MSFs work, current issues and fundraising efforts through social media.

Why am I qualified for this position?

  • Over the summer, a friend and I successfully fundraised over £500 for a school in Bali, solely through challenges carried out on our social media page.
  • I attended the annual Friends of MSF Conference in 2023, gaining insights into different fundraising strategies and effective implementation.
Anna Van Loon

Hi everyone, my name's Anna and I am a third year medic intercalating in Surgical Sciences this year. As part of my iBsc I have spent lots of time this year working with surgical consultants. This exposure has led me to appreciate the extent of available resources we have access to in this country in order for surgery to be smooth and successful. As Fundraising Officer I want to support MSF in providing these resources so that surgeons and clinicians can utilize their skills in supportive environments.

I have already been working on a fundraising event with FoMSF society this year as Social Secretary of UCL RAX. As social sec, I am a friendly and caring person, I have personal relationships with many of the RAX members, and I have experience collaborating with multiple UCL and UoL societies. In my position as Fundraiser I would continue to liase the relationship between RAX and FoMSF and help to organise a huge running fundraising event, potentially expanding this fundraising to an inter-university level.

I really look forward to working with all of you on this fundraiser event to make it as successful as possible and thank you very much for your consideration."
