Summary of proposed changes

Our changes relate mainly to the structure of committee, shows and the inclusion of a refund policy into the constitution.

To begin, our committee has 15 members but only 8 of these were included in the constitution. The new constitution reflects these positions and are as follows: Communications Officer, Publicity and Designs Officer, Tech Officer, Transcendence Producer, Resident Choreographer and 2 Freshers' Representatives who can be postgraduate or undergraduate. Their roles have been outlined in the attached document.

We have also revised the role of our Bloomsbury Producer in line with the changing climate in the way Bloomsbury Theatre bidding works. Where we are not allocated a Bloomsbury Theatre show, the Bloomsbury Producer will take on a head of productions role to ensure that other opportunities such as the Bloomsbury studio bids are known to our members. This will also include communication with Stage Crew to establish a good relationship between the 2 societies and ease on the other show production teams.

Another change in the constitution is the format of the shows that we offer. Previously, the small shows listed were: a Freshers’ show, a Leavers’ Show, a Triple Bill Charity Show, a 24 Hour Charity Show, a Class Showcase and a Season Finale. Now, we have a 24 Hour Charity Show, Freshers’ show, a Triple Bill Charity Show, a Double Feature class
and competition team showcase, a Societies’ Charity Showcase and a Leavers’ Show.

The volunteering project DanceIt! has also changed format. We now work with Holborn Community Centre for term 1 and term 2 and do not work with local schools as previously stated in the current constitution. We would also like to introduce a performance opportunity for the participants in our Triple Bill Charity Showcase.

We have included a refund policy in relation to shows, memberships and products to ensure there is a baseline understanding amongst members, committee and the public.
