Volunteering Society: President

Step into a world where your dreams of positively impacting our global community become real! My name is Ameeqa Qureshi and I am running for President of the UCL Volunteering Society. With your support, we will organize impactful events, empower marginalized communities and tackle global challenges head-on. 

As a current student ambassador for the UCL Mathematical and Physical Sciences Faculty as well as a previous Senior Mentor for the Institute of Risk and Disaster Reduction, I believe I have engaged in opportunities of personal growth wherein I was pushed beyond my comfort zone to support students in their journeys of transitioning and growth. I am also well-versed with the inner workings of several departments at the University, as well as maintaining positive and active contact with major organizations across the UK that welcome student volunteers.

Furthermore, through my experience volunteering at a rural school in Northern Pakistan to engage at-risk youth in educational programs which enable them to move further in their academic trajectory, I have encountered unique challenges and have learned to think outside the box to find innovative solutions. This mindset will enable me to lead the Volunteering society in implementing unique ideas and approaches drawn not only from the leadership team, but also from members.
