Surgical Society: Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Foetal Surgery Chair

It would be an absolute privilege to chair the Obstetrics and Gynaecology branch of surgical society. It is a speciality I am extremely passionate about, and I would relish the opportunity to share this passion with all of you.

 I have been engaged with the healthy life cycle lecture series throughout this year, with it helping to inspire me to complete my iBSc in Women’s Health, showing my commitment to this field, as well as the knowledge we can share within our community. Moreover, I have been completing a research project throughout this academic year in infertility treatment alongside UCLH, which has allowed me to develop not only my organization and deadline management skills but also my team leadership abilities 

Some of the ways that I would take us into the future:

• Organizing regular meetings throughout the year for anyone interested in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, allowing us to discuss key topics as well as acting as a social get together for like-minded people 
• Working with the shadowing officer in order to provide a wide array of shadowing experiences
• Integrating Obstetrics and Gynaecology more thoroughly into the conferences already provided by SurgSoc
• Continuing to improve our social media presence, ensuring everyone has access to events
• Creating the opportunity for workshops in order to develop key surgical skills, and tailoring these specifically to Obstetric, Gynaecology and Foetal surgery.
