Radu Polschi

Hello! I am Radu, a soon-to-be second year medical student!

I joined Sexpression in the first week of university, and it has been one of my favourite societies. This is largely due to the amazing community, and the effective previous committee. But more importantly, I love it because I believe in the importance of sexual education. I came from a country where only abstinence is taught so I initially had to learn everything by myself, and I saw how much harder and less effective that is. What better way for me to prevent this happening, than to prepare others that share the Sexpression values to teach students and increase our reach?

Should I be voted in this position I would:

- Maintain the excellent training system, resources and curriculum designed by Iqra and Daniel, iterating only based on the feedback

- Deliver both the ‘normal’ course for volunteers, as well as the SSC for next year

This year, I delivered 5 Sexpression sessions practicing teaching and overcoming classroom challenges. I have extensive practice from my job where I have taught groups of over 50 students as both a duo, and a trio, both virtually and in-person. Additionally, I have small group teaching experience through my tutoring job, and I presented at over 10 conferences this year, aimed at students from year 10 to 13 with anywhere from 150 to 750 participants.

If you also think my combination between conviction and experience makes me an excellent candidate, then VOTE FOR RADU! :DD

Iqra Shahid

As one of the training officers this past year, I have loved having the opportunity to redesign the training programme, recruit and get to know our lovely volunteers and (at long last) go into schools and empower young people through sex education! It is a cause that is so close to my heart, and being able not only to teach in schools but also to train our new volunteers was just so much fun. I am proud of the programme Daniel and I introduced to Sexpression UCL, we worked so hard to create a more detailed 'curriculum' and resources for our volunteers to use and I'd like to think that our work made a difference. There is always more to improve on, however, and I look forward to listening and learning from our volunteers in the coming year in the hopes of further refining the training programme. Separate to the training programme, I would like to see Sexpression UCL host more events such as the Abortion Unwrapped event and Consent Workshop we had this year and hope to have a role in supporting this. I am so proud to have watched and helped Sexpression to grow and recover post-pandemic and I cannot wait to see us blossom further next year :)
