Lincoln Cheng

Hello everyone, I'm Lincoln, a Year 1 PPE student. I'm passionate about finance and investment and intend to help society thrive via maintaining strong relationships with our clients and partners.

I have a wealth of experience and skills that qualify me for this role. As the current UCLUNA VP, I have demonstrated my leadership and communication skills by organising various activities and securing partnerships for our own MUN Conference. I have also attended the 2022 Finance Conference, and the Harvard Diplomacy Ball in Paris, where I networked with professionals from finance and political industries, learnt from their experiences and gained advice on how to excel in this field.

If elected as Clients Relations Executive, I intend to:

1. Establish and maintain positive relationships with our current (and potential) clients and partners

2. Seeking new opportunities and collaborations to benefit our society and its members, such as sponsorships, internships, scholarships and projects.

3. Negotiating and securing favourable terms and conditions for our society and its members, such as discounts and resources, eg. the Financial Edge discount attained at the recent Finance Conference.

4. Communicating effectively and regularly with our clients and partners, such as updating them on our activities, achievements and feedback.

I am confident that with my unique skillset, I am able to benefit Investment Society, and for that, I would like to seek your vote of confidence.

Zoe Gong

Hi everyone, I am Zoe, an incoming year 2 philosophy and economics student. The core motivation for me to apply for this position is because I have interned at Nomura's Client Financial and Solution department for 2 weeks during the spring internship. This on-desk experience of dealing with clients' special and complex financial needs has cultivated my interest in helping them to solve different problems. I have learned how to deal with problems ranging from debts services to risk management, and I would really want to further my interest in this area through applying the client relations executive position in the investment society.

Umair Asghar

I believe I would make an excellent fit for this role as Client Relations Executive, as I have had ample experience in helping run societies in the past, with my role as Vice-President of the Economics Society in Sixth Form being most notable, and am also thoroughly interested in the work that Investment Society undertakes having attended a number of their events in the past year, with their No Spring, No Problem panel standing out to me in particular. Overall, I feel that my passion for everything in the world of investments, from venture capital to alternative investments, combined with my past experience when it comes to societies, makes me the perfect candidate for this role. I will ensure that the following academic year will be the best so far!

Shriya Rastogi

Hello! My name is Shriya. I am a first-year economics student who is excited to apply for the Client Relations Executive role. I am passionate about finance and thrive on the opportunity to build relationships with clients.

During my Spring Weeks at Nomura and Macquarie, I had the opportunity to develop my deal negotiation and communication skills. I believe that my experience will help me to maintain existing relationships with sponsors and establish new ones, allowing the society to offer unique opportunities to members such as CV clinics, stock pitches, and trading simulations.

Moreover, I have developed a strong network within other societies in the Guild and can leverage these connections to collaborate with them on exciting events.

I am eager to work under the VP of Client Relations to deliver what the society needs.

Thank you for considering my application.

Sincerely,

Shriya

Zhe Kai Liang

My name is Zhe Kai, and I am running for Client Relations Executive of the UCL Investment Society. Having joined UCLIS this year as a First year, I’ve worked closely with the society and its members, having become well acquainted with the inner workings and many members of the society. I’m familiar with what makes the society already great, and what can be done to make it better. Having garnered much experience dabbling in various UCL societies, I feel that the Investment Society holds incredible potential.

As an Anthropology Student, I have what it takes to work with people from around the world, possessing the necessary skills to help UCLIS relations among UCL societies and beyond flourish. Just as I am equally committed to upholding the hard work of last year’s committee, my aim is to help consolidate a good foundation for next year’s UCLIS committee and in posterity.

My passion for bringing people together, for enriching the lives of students of all backgrounds, leads me to seek a position as Client Relations Executive. I hope everyone can support me in my mission to create and promote a more exciting and inclusive society, capable of catering to all walks of life.

Aakash Patel

Hi everyone, my name is Aakash. I'm a first-year Maths with Econ student and am running to be your Client Relations Executive. If elected, I pledge to:

1. Co-ordinate events in collaboration with the leading diversity-driven firms, such as SEO London and 93% Club, to open up the playing field in terms of access to resources for members.

2. Maintain existing sponsorship relations and gain new sponsors from a mixture of different firms to ensure members are aware of the various career paths they can enter within the finance industry. Using my network and platform of financial institutions, I'll be able to provide our members with the most insightful events. Having previously worked with high-net-worth clients during my time at a Wealth Management firm, I'll be confident in convincing new firms for sponsorship or bringing in guest speakers.

3. Launch collaborations with the LSE BIG, Oxford and CUFIS. These could include, the traditional Christmas ball, a welcome boat party and networking events.

Through my experiences at various firms within finance as well as being a part-time cricket coach, I believe that I have gained the relevant soft skills and communication which are suitable for your Client Relations Executive. Combined with my personal network, I firmly believe that there is even more room for UCLIS to expand.
