Hello everyone. I am Lincoln, a Year 1 PPE student; since young, I have had a strong passion for politics at the national and international levels, and have actively participated in over 30 MUNs, such as Harvard WorldMUN and LIMUN, to broaden my political awareness and hone my diplomacy and leadership skills. I have been recognised for my abilities, being elected as the current VP of UCLUNA.
During my leadership roles, I have been actively involved in organising events and workshops to raise engagement among members and collaborating with other societies to create networking opportunities for our members. An example would be the recent London Intercollegiate MUN Simulation organised in collaboration with 6 other London schools.
If elected as the President of the Government & Politics Society, I intend to reach these goals:
1. Expanding the society’s membership and outreach via collaboration with other societies such as UCLUNA or Diplomacy Society to promote our activities and benefits
2. Creating valuable opportunities for members to interact and network with professionals in the field of government and politics, such as through mentorship programmes with alumni, embassy visits, etc.
3. Organising joint events, campaigns and projects on topics of mutual interest, for instance, a joint publication between Politics-affiliated societies.
I strongly believe that my skill set will be of great benefit to the Society, and thus I implore you to give me a vote of confidence.
