As Welfare Representative of Giving Voice, I hope to continue the previous work done to ensure this society remains an inclusive and welcoming space for all students! Giving Voice has done a fantastic job in raising awareness for Speech and Language Therapy as well as the difference it can make in other people's lives, but it also provides a platform for students to support and learn from each other. I hope to aim to maximise this, ensuring that all students from a variety of backgrounds feel included, and most of all feel at home as members of Giving Voice.

I strongly believe that the mental health and well-being of students are of the utmost importance, with my experience as a qualified mental health first aider, I believe that I am qualified to deliver help to students and offer them my support. I also aim to ensure that events remain accessible for all students, so everyone can make the most of their time at UCL.

UCL consists of such a diverse community, and I will do my best to ensure everyone feels included, supported, and able to make the most of their university experience!

Dhvani A Porwal

Hey everyone,

I am a current Year A sLT student and am nominating myself for the GV society Welfare Representative position. I have always been an enthusiastic and proactive student, have taken up leadership roles in multiple societies and volunteered, which has helped develop my communication, management and organisational skills. These opportunities along with being an international student have given me the experience and skill to be inclusive, respect all students and be sensitive to their needs.

I have been part of Giving Voice during my 1st year as the Year A representative and have been the conduit of communication between the society and the students for the year. I also participated in recording a podcast, organise lectures and pub quizzes.

As a human I am extremely compassionate and would love the opportunity to look out for all the members of the society, lend a ear to anyone who needs to be heard, problem solve and be there to help out in any situation.

Thanks for considering me.
