Shiven Arora

Hi, my name is Shiven Arora and I am a first-year Mechanical Engineering student and I would love for the opportunity to become vice president of events for Fintech society. As a passionate and driven individual with a strong background in finance and a deep appreciation for technology, I believe that my skills and experiences make me an ideal candidate for this role.

The role of VP of events would involve organising events in order to create a vibrant and engaged community. During my internship at Sony Pictures Entertainment, I was assigned a project in which I had to present creative strategies that would help Sony to target unviersity students to purchase their products. Using the skills I gained from this experience, I could help organise events for Fintech Society in order to expand their reach and increase member participation.

Furthermore, I was elected to be head of student voice during sixth form. As part of this role, I was responsible for ensuring that the opinions of the student body were represented in decision-making processes. Therefore, I possess the leadership qualities that make me well-suited for this position and I will strive to represent the suggestions and concerns of the Fintech Society members.

Lastly, I am a first-year representative for Punjabi Society this year making me responsible for promoting the society through social media marketing and society fairs. This role has developed my communicational skills which is imperative for a VP of events

James Taylor

Hi all! My name is James and I am running for the position of VP of Events. Over the past year I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the FinTech society and I would love to make my own contribution.

If elected, I plan to host a diverse range of events, including socials, alumni networking events, skill development workshops, case study events, inter-university competitions, guest lectures etc. My goal is to provide members with a variety of opportunities to connect, learn and grow.

With my interest in the area, as well as with my experience in event planning, such as hosting a football summer camp for several years, I believe I can bring a positive impact to the society and supply you with a plethora of exciting events to broaden your career prospects and explore new options.

Amelia Chukhnova

Hi everyone! My name is Ameliia Chukhnova, and I am excited to run for the position of Vice President of Event.

I truly believe that FinTech society events should be both insightful and engaging, and it is something I hope to ensure next year. Events, held this year, helped me with exposure to the FinTech world a lot, strengthening my passion for fintech, so now I plan to contribute to this society in the best manner I can: by organising more events with intense content and networking opportunities.

I am happy to put myself out there and reach out to potential speakers and workshop leaders; to think creatively when it comes to the schedule of events. From collaborating with NGOs and public institutions to freelance teaching, I have a structured vision and a balanced approach to the organisation of events. My previous experiences make me communicative, organised, and confident, and I wish to use those qualities and skills to contribute to the FinTech society and its members. I suggest creating short feedback forms, a more uniform annual schedule, and dividing events into two sections: educational and career-related. This way, we can both expand the society by welcoming people with various fintech backgrounds, while also enhancing the specialist prospects of society members.

With the goals of education, inclusion, and outlook toward the future in mind, I would really appreciate your vote of confidence in me!
