Fencing Club: Welfare Officer

Hi everyone, I’m Meg.

Since joining the UCL fencing society this year, I have been lucky enough to not only get back into a fantastic sport, but also be welcomed into a group of incredibly friendly people. As welfare officer, I would try my best to make sure that everyone in our community continues to find our society an enjoyable and supportive environment, and would love to be considered someone you all feel like you can express any worries to or just have a general chat with.

I’m sure many of us like to take our emotions out by hitting things… but sometimes it’s good to talk about them too – and in which case I’m always around to listen :)

Being the president last year, I realised there are a lot of things that Welfare Officers can do to improve the club and polish the club's image. This role is crucial to club development and based on this year's performance, I want to bring positive change to the club by taking part in different projects and hosting more events.
