Fencing Club: Men's 2nd Captain

Hi!

My name is Khoo, and I am currently running for Men's 2nd Team Captain. I’m a 2nd Management Science Student and have been attending the club for the entire 2021/2022 academic year. While I do not have the fencing experience that other candidates may possess, I do consider myself an extremely competitive person. However, I do have an abundance of competitive and leadership experiences within other fields, such as international and national public speaking and cross country. My intentions for becoming captain lie in bringing both the competitive and casual members closer together whilst leading the 2nd team to new heights. Coming into the next season, as captain, I intend to implement the following:

• Improved cohesion between teammates with friendly socials to strengthen the relationships between members
• Increased attendance of 2nd team members for weekly club practices to improve the overall club member fencing experience and level
• Improved practice regimes to improve each other by attending practices together outside of university
• Introduce a flat structure to the 2nd team to ensure each member has a voice and is heard

With all that, I conclude my proposal as the Men’s 2nd Team Captain nominee.
