Energy Society: Welfare Officer

As an international relations student, I have come to understand that the topic of energy shapes the geopolitical state of the world. Our societies run on energy and therefore our shaped by the way we source it and its availability, as recent events in Russia and Ukraine have shown. My main interests include the impact of energy sourcing on international relations and conflicts, as well as the effect of energy sourcing on climate change. Through the position of the welfare officer, my goal is to use my organisational skills from experiences, such as leading my school's Amnesty International group, to coordinate with expert scholars from every field. My goal for next year is to diversify the type of guest speakers that participate in our events in order to create a multidisciplinary understanding for participants.
