Men's maintenance officer would be a role ideally suited to me because I am experienced with hand tools, manufacturing and am currently studying mechanical engineering. I enjoy working out the tough problems with the boats and also I would be able to create parts of the boat that are broken, as I have access to the engineering manufacturing facilities. Overall I would just like to be able to make sure that the boat club can run more efficiently by making sure that what's broken is fixed quickly.

Darius Fouladinejad

Having rowed for the men's novice team this year, I personally understand the frustration we experience when there are  equipment failures and the disruptions they cause to our training and races.

If I were to be elected as Men's maintenance officer, I will do the following:

1. Weekly maintenance checks of the boats, ensuring that they are all fit for use. This will mean that before training at the start of each week all the boats are ready to be used. This will also prevent the possibility of equipment failures occurring.

2. Maintenance checks before races.

3. An online logging system so that all crews can report any issues so that they are dealt with as soon as possible.

I fully understand and recognise the responsibility this role entails, and working alongside both members of staff and the club, I will ensure that there will be minimal disruption to our training and races.
