K-POP Society: President

I'm Jane, 3rd year medic, I love illit and stray kids :D

It's been so great being part of K-pop soc so far! Thanks to it I met so many wonderful people and found myself a hobby I love ^_^

I want everyone to get the most out of this amazing so experience, so I'm running for president!

My aims:

- more and better practice spaces: I really want groups to have access to practice rooms with mirrors on campus consistently 

- more membership perks: to make every pound worth the membership lols

Why me:

- ok I seriously love this soc haha

- have experience from 4 committees 

- work for the Union, so know the "ways" to get the soc what it needs👀

I'm standing as president for K-pop Society next year because it has genuinely been one of the best parts of my time at UCL <3

I've been actively involved in the society since year 1. Along the way, I've seen what really makes this society great, and what could be even better. I understand how things run, I know what people enjoy, and I genuinely care about making it a good experience for everyone, which is why I'm putting myself forward.

To me, K-pop is THE thing that brings people together - whether you've been a fan for years or you just heard a song you liked. I want to build on what we already have by keeping the events people already love, like chimaek night, themed socials, photocard decorating sessions and random dance play; and also adding more variety to larger events like the winter showcase, gayo daejeon, interuni showcase and covers. You can turn up with no prep, no pressure and still have a great time, and leave with new songs on your playlist and people you actually want to hang out with again.

I am organised, responsible, and always open to hearing new ideas and opinions from everyone. I want the society to be somewhere you feel comfortable, whether it's your first event or you've been here from the start. If you've ever left a night feeling like you made a new friend or just had a really good time, that's what I promise to strive for more of.

I’m running for president because being a source of support is my passion :) to collaborate with, organise and be responsible for a society is an exciting opportunity to do what I love. I’m a google calendar and keyboard warrior.

I’m mostly a GG stan at the moment but I honour my BG roots too 👄 I looove dancing and will work hard to ramp up the hypeness of our showcases!!!

Since I’m going into second year I’ll have more time to dedicate to the society, hoping to introduce a wider variety of events and smoothing out showcase logistics n nerd stuff

I also speak Mandarin so I hope that makes me more accessible to you guys :) be not afraid to approach
