I LOVE GENFEMMMM AND HAARISAH 4 PRESIDENT 4 DA WIN. No but in all seriousness, I am extremely inspired by all the thoughtful GenFem sessions that I have had the pleasure of attending and I think that this club has so much potential to make meaningful and far-reaching changes to UCL.
I think that now more than ever we must cultivate spaces where it is not only safe to be yourself as woman, non-binary, queer, but also spaces in which we can critically discuss the past, present and future of feminism. I want this discussion to be intersectional, postcolonial and open-minded. I want this discussion to be active, not passive; apply it to events, fundraisers, panel discussions, inter-club debates, art-making sessions, zines and other innovative mediums. I want GenFem to be LOUD about the refusal of fascist, misogynistic, ableist or other insidious ideologies at UCL nad beyond. And I want to help do this as your social media rep:).
I have a background in editing and art, so I hope to use these skills to create a cohesive and engaging social media presence. I will relay event dates, post any GenFem competitions or ongoing projects and how members can get involved, and in general ensure that the club’s activities remain easy to access, and perhaps even an aesthetic Instagram feed ;).
I would be grateful for your votes!! See you next year!

Hi I'm Lizzie and I'm running for genfem social media officer!
I love social media marketing, instagram and creating online presences. I have prior experience as publicity officer in my sixth form art society and I am currently doing a marketing internship for an autism cic!
As social media officer of genfem I would:
- repost events, exhibitions, opportunities, protests etc that relate to feminism! For example, local art exhibitions/menstrual blood collection for period disorder research.
- post lots! - reels/stories promoting genfem meetings + events, moodboards, photo dumps of genfem socials
- post stories - I really enjoy watching story takeovers and would bring this back, also I would do Q/A style stories to increase engagement
- create highlights for book recommendations/events/charities so nothing gets lost
- collaborate with other feminist societies through reels and joint posts so that we can share audiences and increase genfem exposure
