Gender and Feminism Society (GenFem) is an intersectional feminist community, where feminism isn’t just a noun but also a verb, where feminism isn’t tokenised but embodied continuously. We believe that feminism isn’t something that should only appear in reactionary settings but something that exists permanently. The heart of GenFem is based in community, finding its strength in the collective. We pride ourselves on offering an accessible space for all interested in feminist thought, challenging misogyny and perceived ideas about gender; and its intersections with race, queerness, class, disability, religion, and ethnicity. We hold weekly meetings, discussion panels, and socials, in conjunction with our continued advocacy on and off campus.

In 2024, GenFem was recognised by the Student Union Awards with the award for Diversity & Inclusion! And in 2023, we also won a Gold Society Development Award and were shortlisted for 3 other society awards: Diversity & Inclusion, Charity & Community Impact and Innovation & Development. We are so excited for you to join us to keep making our mark on campus this upcoming year.
