Anaya Srivastava

Having served as General Secretary of the UCL Biotechnology Society this past year, I have developed a strong understanding of how the society operates and what students value from it. By organising events and coordinating with speakers and societies, I have enjoyed contributing to a community that makes biotechnology more collaborative and engaging. Standing for Scientific Director feels like a natural progression of that experience.

My motivation for applying comes from a genuine interest in biotechnology. As a Biochemical Engineering student, I am particularly interested in areas such as bioprocessing, therapeutics, sustainability, and emerging technologies in biotech. I would like to use this role to organise scientifically engaging events that expose students to diverse areas of the field.

Having already worked closely with committee members as General Secretary, I understand the importance of organisation and clear communication for running events effectively. I would bring both continuity and fresh ideas to the role, while building on the relationships and experience I have gained over the past year. I would be excited to contribute to that as Scientific Director.
