Zak Pearlman

Hi! I’m Zak and I’m running to be your Marketing Officer next year!

Studying medical innovation at UCL has exposed me to the undeniable connection between medical sciences and the legal system. All advancements are under the scrutiny of ethical guidelines and so I think it’s more important than ever to get people involved in this area!

Having previously as a publicity officer for numerous other societies, I have grown to enjoy creating unique ways to market different events.

I would like to help the society reach a wide group of people from across UCL with a professional and fun social media presence 🧬

This means that we can meet as many like-minded people as possible, and make a real difference in building people’s confidence in this field :)

Naomi Alabi

I’m standing for Marketing Officer because I’d love to become more involved in the Bioethics and Medical Law Society by promoting the society’s events and opportunities to a wider range of students. As someone with a strong interest in both biosciences and medical law/bioethics, I think the discussions and topics covered by the society are incredibly relevant and engaging, and I would enjoy helping to increase awareness of them across the student community.

I’d also like to gain experience working as part of a committee and developing the society’s online presence through effective promotion of events, talks and activities. I’m enthusiastic about helping encourage more students to engage with the complex ethical and legal issues surrounding medicine and the life sciences, while also contributing positively to the committee team overall.

Marcus Phasouliotis

Hi everyone :) my name is Marcus and a first-year Classics student with a genuine love for bioethics and medical law. I have been a member for the entirety of this year and attended many events, and even brought friends.

I think that this niche area of law and division of thinking is something which is incredibly interesting and has been a personal rabbit hole source of mine for years. I would be honoured to be your marketing officer to help spread this interesting subject to everywhere possible.

A large part of marketing is social media and I think that a well-curated platform is the way forward for societies. Social media plays an especial role in outreach and is how students navigate university life. I will ensure that our events reach past STEM students and into the realm of those unfamiliar and intellectually curious! Our digital footprint is something I will prioritise and grow the society to its max.
