Men are usually the ones who run top companies in Fashion, a sector fueled by women. Why? not because they have the most merit, but because they just throw themselves out there.

After talking to influential women in business during a HSBC office visit, these were the feelings that could’ve kept them from achieving their dream careers: imposter syndrome, self-doubt, overthinking.

But these women in particular decided to be as shameless as men, and they succeeded.

I am tired of hearing finance bros mansplaining and regurgitating the same economic models that don’t account for extreme scenarios: those that actually impact the world.

So I decided to be the bold networker, I exiled myself from my comfort zone, and enhanced my communication skills. I relentlessly cold-emailed, worked on a real strategy consulting project with 180DC, and built my business acumen thanks to the Business Of Fashion podcast. But I also wear my red lipstick with pride, curl my lashes to the max, choose clothes that embrace my femininity.

Today, I am shameless enough to brag, shameless enough to connect with seniors at Vogue, and this is just the start of a new future for all of my powerful women at FBS.
